Dr. Kate Quinn, DVM
Dr. Quinn graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in1988. She has gained extensive experience as both an associate and practice owner. With a large family and many pets, she is a strong advocate for pets as family members. We work hard to maintain an excellent staff. Our staff is a GREAT team, with the right mix of skills and backgrounds, and has been carefully chosen to provide the best care for your pet.
Dr. Rachel Murray, DVM
Dr. Murray graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She also attended the Chi Institute’s Acupuncture Certification Program in 2017. Her professional interests include rural medicine, mixed animal medicine (farm animals, horses, chickens), shelter medicine, working and service dogs. Dr. Murray has a passion for general practice and loves getting to know her clients and pets and taking care of them across their lifespans. In her free time, Dr. Murray enjoys backpacking, teaching students at MSU, and spending time at home on her farm with sheep, turkeys, chickens, her two dogs, Cashew and Boatswain, and cat, Sete.
Danielle Cheney, LVT
Danielle joined the team March 2024 after moving north from the city. She has been an LVT since 2008. Danielle has two cats at home by the names of Nemo & Babs. She spends her off time at home with her elementary school son and her husband that been with Detroit Fire Department over 20 years. Danielle has been a huge asset to our team with her vast veterinary knowledge and she takes special interests in client education
Rebecca Spezia, LVT
Rebecca grew up on a farm in a small town. She has had a love of animals all her life. She graduated from Baker College in 2008. She has worked in the field as a LVT for 9 years. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her fiancé Matt, her daughter Lilly, and her cat and 2 guinea pigs. Rebecca also has a special interest in fish aquariums and has several thriving fish tanks.
Amy Gardner, Assistant
Amy is another Michigan State Graduate. It was there she majored in zoology. She worked at the Detriot Zoo for 7 years as a penguin keeper before she and her family decided to move back to the Croswell area where she and her husband Keith grew up. Amy joined the team February 2019. She has 3 children, Addison, Brecon and Evelynn, a dog named Loki and two cats named Ivy and paws.
Carolyne Nowawski, Assistant
Carolyne has been with the Burtchville Clinic Staff since October 2016 as a Receptionist/Assistant. With a brief absence in 2019, she has rejoined us part time! Carolyne lives in the Lexington area with her boyfriend, Scott. Together they have two dogs, Aspen, Tilly and one cat Binx! They enjoy their weekends off in Hale, sitting on the pontoon or by the fire. Carolyne loves spending time with family, especially her godson, Emery. She has a love for all animals big, small, furry, and scalely… but if it slithers, NO THANKS! ☺ She can’t wait to assist Dr. Quinn with the care of your beloved pet.
Katie Starr, Receptionist
Katie is a local Cros-Lex Graduate who joined our team in April 2022 as a receptionist. At a young age, Katie knew she wanted to work with animals. She has two dogs, Sadie and Miller and a cat by the name of Jax. She enjoys spending her time with her boyfriend and their three children.
Shelby Ostrand, Receptionist
Shelby is a local Cros-Lex graduate who started with us in January 2017 as a receptionist. Shelby is the perfect description of an “Animal Lover.” Her heart, love, and passion to help any animal or little creatures there are, is why she fits perfect in our clinic. When Shelby is not snuggling all of the patients at the clinic she is spending time adventuring with her husband James, and two sons Silas and Myles. The four of them have eight fur baby companions. Her four dogs: Brody, Lola, Darwin, and Lottie Mae. And the kitty cats: Dennis, Lucy, Josie, and Margo.
