Dr. Kate Quinn, DVM

Dr. Quinn graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in1988. She has gained extensive experience as both an associate and practice owner. With a large family and many pets, she is a strong advocate for pets as family members. We work hard to maintain an excellent staff. Our staff is a GREAT team, with the right mix of skills and backgrounds, and has been carefully chosen to provide the best care for your pet.


Dr. Rachel Murray, DVM

Dr. Murray graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She also attended the Chi Institute’s Acupuncture Certification Program in 2017. Her professional interests include rural medicine, mixed animal medicine (farm animals, horses, chickens), shelter medicine, working and service dogs. Dr. Murray has a passion for general practice and loves getting to know her clients and pets and taking care of them across their lifespans. In her free time, Dr. Murray enjoys backpacking, teaching students at MSU, and spending time at home on her farm with sheep, turkeys, chickens, her two dogs, Cashew and Boatswain, and cat, Sete.


Amber Kolenic, LVT

Amber became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2004. She moved to the Port Huron area in 2015 from North Dakota, but originates from West Michigan. She joined our team in the fall of 2016. She has a great passion for animals large and small. Her number one goal as an LVT is helping owners achieve quality care and longevity of their pets. When she is not caring for the patients at the clinic, she is enjoying time with her husband, daughter, and son. Amber is also extensively involved in horses. She loves to show and teach her daughter how to ride. She became a Certified Equine Massage Therapist in 2016. She has 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 horses, and pony. Amber looks forward to meeting you and your pet at your next visit to the clinic.


Amy Gardner, Assistant

Amy is another Michigan State  Graduate. It was there  she majored in zoology. She worked at the Detriot Zoo for 7 years as a penguin keeper before she and her family decided to move back to the Croswell area where she and her husband Keith grew up. Amy joined the team February 2019. She has 3 children,  Addison, Brecon and Evelynn, a dog named Loki and two cats named Ivy and paws. 


Carolyne Nowawski, Assistant

Carolyne has been with the Burtchville Clinic Staff since October 2016 as a Receptionist/Assistant. With a brief absence in 2019, she has rejoined us part time! Carolyne lives in the Lexington area with her boyfriend, Scott. Together they have three dogs, Milo, Aspen, Tilly and one cat Binx! They enjoy their weekends off in Hale, sitting on the pontoon or by the fire. Carolyne loves spending time with family, especially her godson, Emery. She has a love for all animals big, small, furry, and scalely…but if it slithers, NO THANKS! ☺ She can’t wait to assist Dr. Quinn with the care of your beloved pet. 

Sydney Gagne, Assistant

Sydney graduated from Port Huron High School in 2017. She now studies at Macomb Community College in their Veterinary Technician program. She will be graduating in 2022! She has learned a variety of skills in this program and has also developed a love for large animals too! Sydney has three cats ; Oreo, Precious, and Pumpkin. As well as two dogs; Louie and Gigi. She hopes one day to own a little farm with her boyfriend of four years so she can have a collection of animals! Especially cows!!


Shelby Ostrand, Receptionist 

Shelby is a local Cros-Lex graduate who started with us in January 2017 as a receptionist. Shelby is the perfect description of an “Animal Lover.” Her heart, love, and passion to help any animal or little creatures there are, is why she fits perfect in our clinic. When Shelby is not snuggling all of the patients at the clinic she is spending time adventuring with her husband James, and two sons Silas and Myles. The four of them have nine fur baby companions. Her three dogs: Brody, Lola, Darwin, and Lottie Mae. And the kitty cats: Lucy, Josie, Margo and Louie. Can’t forget about the ferret, little mister Dewey!!


Amanda Keefer, Receptionist

Amanda is another Pioneer graduate who lives locally with her high school sweet-heart of 12 years, they just recently were married in August 2021! Together they have one spoiled rotten Pitbull named Tiva and 4 hens! Amanda enjoys spending time outdoors whether it be hiking, traveling, fishing or attending a good concert! She looks forward to meeting you and your companions. 


Susan Tebo, Receptionist

Susan is a Brown City local. She graduated from Brown City High School in 2013. She then went on to achieve her AVA ( Approved Vet Assistant) through Vet Med Team and serves on the Macomb Community College Vet Assistant Committee, She is currently working towards her associates degree from Macomb Community College. Susan joined our team in Spring of 2021! She has two fuzzy members of her family. Emma, a 17 year old Shih Tzu and a mini-rex rabbit named Czarex. Susan is an avid essential oil lover who enjoys reading, exercising, going to the movies and spending time with her family and friends.
